Global Marketing :: essays papers
Global Marketing Internet Paper The internetââ¬â¢s first role is the delivery and collection of timely information about products and services. We will have a look at the realistic role that the internet might play in assisting firms to reach their international marketing objectives. There are two types of impediments to the internetââ¬â¢s adoption and growth in international marketing: structural and functional. Structural issues are likely to have greater impact on consumer internet marketing than on business-to-business marketing. Functional issues are likely to have a greater influence on consumer marketing because businesses are easier to identify, segment, and reach. Functional issues A distinction can be made in the use of the internet: a passive use and an active use. The passive mode is used when the company recognizes the importance of having a presence on the web. The company will offer products, services, contact opportunity and other information that can be used by the consumer. Much more complex is the active use of the internet. It demands the identification of its appropriate role in the firmââ¬â¢s global strategic marketing plan. One functional issue is the market segmentation that should be chosen by the company. At this moment the mass marketing via the internet can not be pursued yet since there are still some limitations at this moment. A limitation is that the public access to the internet is still limited. Prospects are declaring that, when correctly applied, the internet is quickly adopted by the target audience and grows rapidly. Another limitation is that there is no programming per se to attract the individual surfer on the internet. However, the internet is well-suited for relatively homogeneous products that enjoy a broad appeal. Second, advertising has been the most natural and perhaps best developed use of the internet to date. The internet can be viewed as a mulitmedium, so it should be treated with the same principles as other advertising media. Promotion is a very important issue in this whole concept since with promotion brand recognition can be reached. Pricing is a third issue that should be mentioned. Pricing on the internet at the manufacturer level makes it easier for the competition to accumulate relevant price data and modify its current marketing program. Even a new strategy can be developed to compete for a bigger share of the market.
The Governments Integrity :: Ethical Integrity Essays
à à à à à The Governmentââ¬â¢s Integrity According to Websterââ¬â¢s dictionary a militia is ââ¬Å"all able-bodied male citizens between 18 and 45 years old who are not already members of regular armed forces.â⬠If only it was that simple. Individual fear of government corruption has lead to a wide spread militia movement. This movement has been going on ever since the early 80ââ¬â¢s and is growing stronger today. à à à à à In the beginning there were only two major militia groups: The Order, and the Posse Comitatus. ââ¬Å"The Order was the most violent and notorious domestic terrorist group of the 80ââ¬â¢sâ⬠(www.nizkor.org/web...1/paranoia-as-patriotism/the-order.htlml). Founded in 1983 by Robert Mathews, it was one of the first racists militia groups. It gathered itââ¬â¢s members from the National Alliance, Aryan Nation, and other Klan splinter groups. Mathews felt that it was his duty in life to lead a revolution against government and all non-white citizens of the U.S. During the first year of existence, the Order stole close to $26,000 in order to launch a counterfeiting operation. In total, the Order stole over four-million dollars from banks and armored trucks. Mathews and his followers were more than just thieves, they were also one of the first domestic terrorist groups. Members of the Order carried out strategic bombings and planned assassinations. Two people that were targeted were Walter West and Alan Berg. Walters was a members of the Order accused of ââ¬Å"talking to much.â⬠In May of 1994, Walters was driven into to the woods by other members of the Order who shot and buried him. The second target, Alan Berg, was a Jewish talk-radio host. The Order tried to scare him off the air, but their threats did little to Berg. After several heated conversation Bergs was shot and killed in front of his house. The Order continued with their reign of terror by robbing a Brinkââ¬â¢s armored vehicle escaping with approximately four million dollars. All of this would have gone without incident but Mathews carelessly left a pistol at the scene of Bergââ¬â¢s murder. The FBI later traced it back to the Order. At the same time, Thomas Martinez was arrested for trying to use a counterfeit bill. Martinez made a plea with authorities and exposed the Order. In total, twenty-two members arrested, fined, and some of the members were given life sentences. R. Mathews being the solider he is died in a shootout with law enforcement. In December 1984, the life of the Order had come to an end. à à à à à During the time of the Orderââ¬â¢s reign, the Posse Comitatus was also in action.

The Plastic Pink Flamingo
The Plastic Pink Flamingo America has existed for many centuries and it has always revolved around popularity and wealth. Jennifer Price wrote the essay ââ¬Å"The Plastic Pink Flamingo: A Natural Historyâ⬠in order to reveal the truth about American peopleââ¬â¢s obsessions and passions for their cravings by two main factors: a flamingo and pink. ââ¬Å"First, it was a flamingo. â⬠When analyzing this essay and focusing on the topic of flamingo, the words Ironic, Hypocritical, Exaggerative, Popularity, and Attention come to ones mind. This was a little ironic, since Americans had hunted flamingos to extinction in Florida in the late 1800ââ¬â¢s, for plumes and meat. â⬠This quote plays a big role in the irony of the popular flamingo because these creatures were once viewed as prey and now they are the names of hotels and in peopleââ¬â¢s lawns. From the 1800ââ¬â¢s to the present, the flamingoââ¬â¢s status has changed so much that they can be viewed as an i dol now. The exaggeration comes into play when describing the color. Not one real flamingo is that bright of a pink and yet every plastic lawn-ornament is florescent pink. ââ¬Å"A flamingo stands out in a desert even more strikingly than on a lawn. â⬠Price says that there is not purpose of the flamingo except appearance. When people see that bright pink animal in the grass of their neighborââ¬â¢s front yard they automatically think different so those neighbors are always going to stand out to everyone else. They bring attention which is what everyone wants. ââ¬Å"And the flamingo was pink. Karal Ann Marling once wrote ââ¬Å"sassy pinksâ⬠were ââ¬Å"the hottest color of the decade. â⬠In 1956 when Elvis Presley had signed his first recording contract, he purchased a pink Cadillac. Once everyone knew ââ¬Å"The Kingâ⬠had a pink car everyone wanted it. Pink at that time was a very trendy color and to be honest it still is. One of the most popular ââ¬Å"Inâ⬠trends is the Breast-Cancer epidemic. The icon is a little â⠬Å"Pinkâ⬠ribbon and everyone around the world is aware of this disease and pink is overflowing the Earth. The NFL recently spent more than a thousand dollars on pink cleats, head-bands, wrist-bands, and other products. The ââ¬Å"inâ⬠color will always change over time but pink will always be that one exception, the one color that everyone can relate to in some way. This entire country is based on appearance, what does everyone else think of us? Price, by the end of the excerpt, has now fully explained to the audience that she believes the United States is just shallow and is obsessed with its manifestation.
